Brand Story
A brand story is a narrative device that allows brands to connect with their customers on a more personal level. Simply put, it is the origin story of the brand, told in a way to make it look more human and personable to the common person.
Example of how it is used in a sentence:
“The brand story of Google is something that a lot of tech startups are using as an inspiration. Who would have known that a simple project by two nerdy post-grad kids run out of somebody’s garage would turn into one of the world’s largest companies to date?”
Why are Brand Stories Important?
Stories are powerful tools in human communication. When you tell a story, your readers and listeners empathize with you and they feel what you want them to feel. Brands are capitalizing on this, and publishing their brand story is a great way to “humanize” their organization.
For example, the brand story of Apple is a highly publicized one that is often repeated in tech circles. The company’s humble beginnings and its subsequent rise in the tech world basically turned Steve Jobs into the guru that he is known for today. The same goes for companies like Google and Microsoft.
